I've pencilled in bricks on the fire place and drew the box on the mantelpiece. It has like an Egyptian eye on it with a key hole instead of a pupil. I've also thought since this area of the picture is shaping up quite intricate, to add a little bit detail to the oval picture frames. Keeping with the reptile theme I was thinking a snake eating its tail
Something like this, but just the head.
Also two concerns regarding the composition. 1, the bottom right corner has nothing going on in it. At first it seemed obvious to add the shape of the window here where the light is hitting the carpet like on a previous draft
but then as the carpet is going to be pointillism and areas of the pattern will be bare + Ill have to include the silhouette of the top of the cat, unless I went in heavy with the pointillism, I imagine this area would appear confused.
2, the material textures are both set to be applied to the left of the picture. It'll become more obvious whether this is an issue as it develops but. The vase could maybe have a water based texture? Maybe a rug cutting into the bottom right?
* the lizards have faded again to the point where I'm gonna have to use the original assets and light box to draw them in as some of the lines aren't visible at all. This time I'm gonna ink them. The only thing that had been preventing me was that I wasn't sure whether the side where they are facing the light should be defined by line or the absence of line. Again and for the same reason, the lighter pointillism alone won't clearly define where the line is... Given as both the window light issue and the side light issues are both cause of the pointillism, maybe I should just go in heavy with it?
But that would cause the contrast between the top and the bottom halves of the picture to be more even.. Could maybe do inverted wall paper?
I feel like I'm over thinking it. Normally I just draw something and it composes itself.
